Sperrô is a highly experienced Certificated Professional Mine Surveyor skilled in training Surveyors Samplers and Valuators with a strong safety, health, as well as technical background. Sperrô has 51 years experience in the South African Mining Industries. Sperrô’s experience in the Skills Development and Competency Analyses arena which includes a 14 year term as Inspector of Mines Mine Surveying and a period of two years with the MQA, the SETA for the Mining and Minerals Sector, where he is a member of the TRG 2 team, responsible for sectoral research as well as developing the competency unit standards for the Mineral Surveying Unit.
Sperrô as the sole prop tier of Spiro Survey Services with his team of 6 facilitators conduct training for Surveyors and Mine Managers in the Survey and Evaluation field in the RSA and abroad.

Billy has 37 years experience in the South African Mining Industries. Billy`s experience in the Skills Development and Competency Analyses arena which includes a 17 year term as Training Manager at Vaal Reefs in the Survey and evaluation sector. Was involved with Recruiting and Training of first surveyors of colour in Anglo American Corporation. Served on Anglo American Corporation EDP Training Committee. Assisted with Survey Training courses presented at AAC Central Training Unit at Macauvlei, Vereeniging. Presented Mining Survey to non-Mining Managers. Dennis has more than 50 years of mine surveying experience, 37 of which were at various Gold and Platinum mines and 16 as an Inspector of Mines with the Department of Mineral Resources from where he retired in 2012 as Director of Mine Surveying. During his time with the DMR he was the Technical Task Group Facilitator tasked with the development and compiling of unit standards based Mine Surveying and Minerals Valuation qualifications for the Mines Qualification Authority.
He has also served as Council Member of the Institute of Mine Surveyors where he was Chairman of the Technical Committee and is currently Chairman of the Minerals Council of South Africa Examination Board for Mine Surveying.
Since his retirement Dennis was a lecturer at UNISA and guest lectured at the University of Johannesburg as well as Witwatersrand University. He has been on the team of Spiro Survey Services since 2014 as facilitator for the Mine Surveyors Certificate of Competency subjects of Survey I, II and III, Geology and Mining Legislation.

Obie is a highly experienced Certificated Professional Mine Surveyor with a 35 years of experience in the gold mining industry as mine surveyor and planning manager. Two year experience in training the BPF process to the mining industry. Worked with the MQA setting the curriculum for sampling and survey training for the mining industry.

Willie Retief started his Mining Career in 1975 as a learner Official.
On his retirement (2017) he held the position as Group Occupational Hygiene Manager/ Group Environmental Engineer at Harmony Mines.
During his career he obtain he obtained all the required qualifications in the Mining Industry in his field of work.
Willie`s portfolio at Spiro Survey Services will be the training of students in the
COM and QCTO curriculums for Environmental Management and Safety and Health.

Since retirement he has spent the past 10 years in the training environment facilitating courses at Anglo (Bleskop), Spiro Survey Services, Sibanya Gold Academy and UNISA, preparing students for survey and valuation exams covering Chamber of Mines, National Diploma, Government Mine Surveyors, Mine Managers and Mine Captain certificates.
At UNISA he has been involved in researching and preparing survey and mine valuation study material for the impending introduction of a mine surveying degree.
